Extending the coax cable will result in additional attenuation (signal loss), so keep the run of 240 coax as short as possible. (We’d recommend a maximum extension of 5 to 10 feet.)
The SMA-female barrel connector will introduce less than 0.1 dB of attenuation, so there’s no significant problem with using it inline to connect two runs of cable.
