There are two issues involved here: Penetration and distance.
- Cellular signal (from this antenna or any other source) passes through fiberglass, non-dense woods, and similar materials. If the interior of your boat is made of light materials, then signal penetration won't be an issue. Where you'll have problems is if the bulkheads in your boat are steel, dense woods (like thick oak), and so forth; in that case, the signal will have difficulty passing through the walls.
- The SureCall Fusion2Go 3.0 is a mobile booster with a maximum signal gain of 50 dB. Depending on the type of outdoor antenna, the lengths of cables you're using, and the strength of the outside signal, you can expect 3 to 10 feet feet of signal from the Top Signal EDGE panel antenna. If outside signal is very weak and/or your coax cable to the exterior antenna is long, you'll experience the shorter end of that range. In that situation, placing the panel antenna in the passageway between two cabins may not give you enough range for the signal to reach into the cabins in any meaningful way (even if the bulkheads are made of lighter material). The solution to this is to place the antenna in one cabin where you need signal the most; you could also upgrade to a more powerful booster that can project signal a greater distance.
