Connecting a cell signal booster directly to a cellular/WiFi router will provide more signal than the router is designed to handle. Because this may damage the router, we don't recommend it.
Instead, we recommend placing the router near the booster's inside broadcast antenna. For a mobile booster like the weBoost Drive Reach, that would be within a few feet (or, in cases with very weak outside signal, less than a foot) of the broadcast antenna.
The only cell signal boosters that are designed to directly connect to routers and other devices are IoT or M2M devices with very low gain, like the WilsonPro IoT 5-Band system.
